Flow

Munchkin Flow is a silicone nipple shield with a built-in channel that gives breastfeeding mothers real-time visual confirmation of milk flow, offering the reassurance often missing in traditional shield designs.

As an intern, I contributed to the industrial refinement and development of accessories for Flow, including a starter case, a replacement case, and a cleaning syringe.

    Nipple Shield 

    Cleaning Syringe


    The nipple shield needed an accessory that could flush out milk residue through the see-through channel. 

    Starter Case


    Designed for at-home use, the starter case accomodates both the nipple shield and cleaning syringe for steam sterilization. 

    Replacement Case


    The compact replacement case holds a single nipple shield for on-the-go use.

    Process


    Through functional testing and physical prototyping, I explored steam sterilization methods, internal component positioning, and case geometries. These explorations informed the final designs and their usability.
